What Is a Barcode Generator?
A barcode generator takes text or numeric input and renders it as a scannable-looking pattern of bars or squares. Sellers use barcodes to label products for inventory, fulfilment and retail checkout. This tool renders barcode images on an HTML canvas and lets you download them as PNG files.
Supported Barcode Formats
The tool supports four formats, each with its own input requirements:
- UPC-A: 11 to 12 digits, used for US and Canada retail products.
- EAN-13: 12 to 13 digits, used for international retail products.
- Code 128: alphanumeric input up to 40 characters, used for shipping labels.
- QR Code: a visual QR-style preview pattern for text or URLs up to 200 characters. This is a preview, not a scannable QR code.
How Barcode Generation Works
Select a format, type your data into the input field, and the tool checks that the data matches the format — for example, UPC-A requires 11 to 12 digits. When you click Generate, the tool draws the barcode pattern on an HTML canvas using the width and height you set.
For the QR option, the tool renders a visual QR-style preview pattern rather than a scannable QR code. Use UPC-A, EAN-13 or Code 128 when you need a real barcode.
You can apply a label preset to match common label sizes — FBA 1 by 2 inch, FBA 2 by 2 inch, shipping 4 by 6 inch, or A4 full page — or enter a custom width and height in pixels. After generating, download the image as a PNG file.
How to Use the Barcode Generator
- Click a barcode type button to choose the format.
- Enter your data in the input field, following the format requirements shown.
- Set a custom width and height, or choose a label preset from the dropdown.
- Click Generate to render the barcode on the canvas.
- Click Download PNG to save the image.
Barcode Generation Example
To generate an EAN-13 barcode, select EAN-13 as the type, enter a 13-digit number such as 6901234567892, set a width of 300 and height of 120 pixels, then click Generate. The tool draws the barcode bars on the canvas, and you can download the result as a PNG file.
Product barcodes must be purchased from GS1. This tool renders the barcode image from a code you already own; it does not assign or register codes.
よくある質問
What barcode formats does this tool support?
The tool supports four formats: UPC-A for 11 to 12 digit product barcodes, EAN-13 for 12 to 13 digit international product barcodes, Code 128 for alphanumeric input up to 40 characters, and a QR-style visual preview for text or URLs up to 200 characters. The UPC-A, EAN-13 and Code 128 outputs are rendered as barcode patterns on an HTML canvas. The QR option renders a visual preview pattern and is not a scannable QR code.
Can I download the barcode as an image?
Yes. After generating the barcode you can download it as a PNG file. You can also set a custom width and height in pixels or apply a label preset — FBA 1×2 inch, FBA 2×2 inch, shipping 4×6 inch, or A4 full page.
What is the difference between UPC-A and EAN-13?
UPC-A is a 12-digit barcode used primarily in North America. EAN-13 is a 13-digit barcode used internationally. This tool accepts 11 to 12 digits for UPC-A and 12 to 13 digits for EAN-13, padding with zeros if needed.
How do I get valid UPC or EAN codes for my products?
Product barcodes must be purchased from GS1, the global standards organisation. Each product variant needs its own unique code. This tool renders the barcode image from a code you already own; it does not assign or register codes.
