What Is a Cross-Border Marketing Calendar?
A cross-border marketing calendar is a single schedule of the global shopping events that drive ecommerce sales across regions. It tells you when customers in the US, Europe, China, Southeast Asia and other markets are actively buying, so you can plan inventory, listings and promotions in advance instead of reacting on the day.
This tool ships with 43 events spread across the full calendar year, each labelled with its platforms, regions and an importance badge so you can quickly see which dates deserve the most preparation.
How the Marketing Calendar Works
The top row is a 12-month overview. Each month tile shows up to five coloured dots representing the importance of events in that month: red for high, amber for medium and grey for low. Click a month tile to filter the list to that month only, or click again to clear the filter.
Below the month row are three filters. Importance lets you show all events or only high, medium or low importance ones. Platform lets you narrow the list to a specific marketplace such as Amazon, Amazon US, Amazon MX, eBay US, eBay UK, eBay FR, eBay IT, eBay DE, eBay AU, eBay SG or eBay JP. Events tagged with the platform "All" always appear no matter which platform filter is selected.
Each event card shows the date, name, importance badge and a short tip. The platform tags on each card show which marketplaces the event applies to. The list always sorts chronologically by date.
How to Use the Marketing Calendar
- Click a month tile at the top to focus on one month, or leave all months selected.
- Use the importance buttons to filter by high, medium, low or all events.
- Use the platform dropdown to filter by Amazon, eBay or a specific regional marketplace.
- Read the tip on each event card for product category ideas.
- Start sourcing and preparing listings 6 to 8 weeks before high-importance events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Christmas.
Marketing Calendar Example
To find Q4 promotions, click the November tile. The list narrows to Singles' Day (11-11), Thanksgiving (11-19), Black Friday (11-23) and Cyber Monday (11-24). All four are tagged as high importance and platform "All", so they apply to every marketplace. Use the platform dropdown to further narrow to a specific Amazon or eBay region.
Dates are stored in month-day format. Floating holidays such as Easter and Lunar New Year are pinned to a representative date and may shift by a few days each year, so always verify the exact date for the current year before launching a campaign.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
Which shopping events are included in the calendar?
The calendar ships with 43 fixed-date global shopping events covering the full calendar year, including New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Amazon Prime Day (July 20), Back to School, Mid-Autumn Festival, China National Day, Halloween, Singles' Day (11.11), Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and New Year's Eve. Each event lists its platform, region and importance level, plus a short tip.
How accurate are the event dates?
Fixed holidays such as Christmas (12-25), Valentine's Day (02-14) and Singles' Day (11-11) use their exact date every year. Floating holidays like Easter, Lunar New Year and Mother's Day are pinned to a representative date in the calendar data and may shift by a few days from year to year. Always double-check the exact date for the current year before launching a campaign.
How do the month, importance and platform filters work?
Click any month tile at the top to filter events to that month only. Use the importance buttons to show high, medium, low or all importance events. Use the platform dropdown to filter by All, Amazon, Amazon US, Amazon MX, eBay, eBay US, eBay UK, eBay FR, eBay IT, eBay DE, eBay AU, eBay SG or eBay JP. Events tagged with platform "All" always appear regardless of the platform filter.
How early should I prepare for major shopping events?
Start preparing 6 to 8 weeks ahead for major promotions like Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Singles' Day and Christmas. Inventory needs to be sourced, listings optimised, ad creative produced and email campaigns scheduled before the event window opens. The importance badge (three stars for high, two for medium, one for low) helps you spot the events that move the most revenue.
