What Is an Amazon FBA Fee Calculator?

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) lets sellers send inventory to Amazon, which stores it and handles picking, packing, shipping, returns and customer service in exchange for fees.

FBA sellers pay three main cost groups: a referral fee on each sale, a fulfillment fee per unit, and storage fees for warehouse space. These costs come directly out of revenue and reduce your margin, so a product that looks profitable at its selling price may not be once FBA fees are included.

An Amazon FBA fee calculator estimates those costs before you source inventory or set a price. Sellers use it to compare scenarios, weigh FBA against other fulfillment methods, and avoid pricing products at a loss. The figures are planning estimates, not official Amazon billing.

How Does the Amazon FBA Calculator Work?

The calculator follows the same logic as Amazon's fee structure:

  1. Centimeters and kilograms are converted to inches and pounds, and the three sides are sorted into long, median and short.
  2. The size tier is determined from the dimensions, weight, and length-plus-girth measurement.
  3. The per-unit fulfillment fee for that tier and weight is applied.
  4. The referral fee is the selling price multiplied by the selected category percentage (with a $0.30 minimum), and media items add a $1.80 closing fee.
  5. Monthly storage is estimated as product volume in cubic feet multiplied by the seasonal storage rate.
  6. All fees are summed, and net profit (selling price minus product cost and fees) and profit margin are calculated.

Actual Amazon fees can vary by marketplace, category, fulfillment method, product size, season and other factors, and rates change over time. Treat the results as estimates and verify current fees with Amazon Seller Central.

Questions fréquentes

How are Amazon FBA fees calculated?

The calculator totals four fee types: a fulfillment fee based on your product’s size tier and weight, a referral fee that is a percentage of the selling price for the selected product category, an optional media closing fee, and an estimated monthly storage fee based on product volume and season. Net profit is then the selling price minus your product cost and all Amazon fees.

What is an FBA size tier?

Amazon sorts your product’s dimensions into long, median and short sides and, together with its weight, places it in a tier such as Small Standard, Large Standard, Small Oversize, Medium Oversize or Large Oversize. Each tier carries a different fulfillment fee. Centimeter and kilogram inputs are converted to inches and pounds for the US rate card.

Which marketplace and fee rates does this calculator use?

It uses the US FBA rate card built into the tool (last updated January 2025). Actual fees vary by marketplace, product category, size, season and other factors, and Amazon can change rates at any time. Treat the results as estimates and verify current fees in Amazon Seller Central.

Does the calculator include long-term storage fees?

No. It estimates fulfillment, referral, media closing and monthly storage fees only. Long-term storage or aged-inventory surcharges for units kept in Amazon warehouses for extended periods are not included.

Is the FBA calculator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up or registration, and the calculations run entirely in your browser.
